Well, the housemates and I got back from the annual trip to Monteagle last night. We had fun though our group was much smaller than in years past. We took several different hikes than we have in years past as well.
Friday started out questionable. Hannah, Sheila, Liz, and I started out Friday morning with overcast skies and cool temperatures. We traveled north with the thought to meet up with Waranya and Whan in Chattanooga later that evening. We planned to take a hike during the mid-afternoon and by early evening spend some time in the city. Well, as usual, any plans we make tend to fall through and Plans B-D are usually implemented. We couldn't find the trail we wanted so we decided to check out Covenant College. Covenant was shrouded in fog and had biting winds. Between the breeze and the clouds, we were nice and chilled. I believe Sheila has pictures (what we could get) from that experience. On the way down from Covenant, we took a detour. We didn't get to the city until close to 6 and then Waranya and Whan arrived. We had dinner and then headed out to Monteagle.
Saturday was again overcast and chilly--though not so cold as in years past. We spent the day in Swannee. Not much to tell there. Everything's pretty much the same. Hannah's parents and brother, Carter, came for dinner and dessert as well as a game of skip-bo.
Sunday was the day of hiking. We started out at the cross and headed for... well, I don't know how long the hike was. I'd guess between 3-5 miles but who knows. It was also the only sunny day we had.
Pictures!
