computer woes (again)

today i received a visit from the network administrator. imagine my surprise when the roomie opens the door and a man asks "is kaitlin here?" *blink* since when does a man ask to see me? anyway, next thing i know he's plunking away at my computer and giving vague explanations. eventually, i pull it out of him (i'm not stupid) *grumps* turns out my computer has contracted a nasty. what is a nasty? it's just that. something nasty has gotten onto my desktop and threatened the information upon it. personal (it's uncertain at this time how personal) information has been sent to an unknown ip address. so anyway, my poor desktop is being held hostage by the scary people in computer services. i don't exactly trust them but i don't really have much of a choice. *sigh* the problems i have with computers. first the lappy and now the desktop.
