I'm sure everyone remembers the game "Never Have I Ever" or "I Have Never" or whatever they're calling it nowadays but tomorrow we can cross off one more thing I have never done. I have never been to a club... on American soil. I clarify because, believe it or not, I've been to a Ukrainian club(s). Yes, I, at the age of 24, have never ventured into the club scene. Why? Because (1) I didn't drink excessively, (2) I didn't like strangers, and (3) I was never that comfortable dancing. That really hasn't changed much. I still don't drink excessively (it's rare that I ever even start on a second beer), I still don't like strangers though I believe I hide that fact a little better than I did... i.e. now I can at least carry on some form of small talk, and dancing... well, that still takes me some time to get comfortable doing. I don't think I ever will dance the night away.
I've also been told I'm a flirt... though I would never say that about myself. I don't intentionally flirt.
So anyway, I was making chocolate chip pancakes for dinner when one of my housemates walks in and says, "We're going clubbing tomorrow, are you coming?"
I pause, turn to look at her in confusion and ask, "What?"
"Clubbing. Are you coming?"
"Us?"
"Yes, [other housemate] wants to at least experience the club before she's too old for it to be considered cool. Pretty much before she's thirty."
"But she's not anywhere near... Clubs aren't us. It's out of character for all of us."
My housemate laughed. "Yup, all the more reason to do it. It'll be fun."
And that is the reason behind going to a club. My major concern is that I don't have any club clothing. What do you even wear to a club? I didn't have club clothing in Ukraine and it was most awkward. Great. Now I'm going to fret about it all day at work.

Yeah. They are fun... but if you don't like rap or techno, you're not going to like it so much.
