Usually I don't really comment on the fact that we get snow since "snow" in the south tends to be light flurries and nothing more. Well, I can honestly say that it's been snowing since 10 this morning. Snicker all you like you northerners, Alabama--the Southeast in general--is getting snow. Now, it'll all disappear by tomorrow at noon but right now it's steadily coming down.

Here's the house about 5 minutes ago. It's just now starting to stick to the sidewalks and the edges of the road.


And my poor car.



Considering it was about 45 yesterday, it's looking rather white out. I actually just got back from the grocery store. For a Friday around 2pm, it was rather busy. I can tell you that the bread's running low (good thing I didn't go for bread) and the frozen breakfast foods are nearly gone. Milk's still pretty well stocked but I did see a number of people stocking up on wine and beer... It kind of makes me think they're worried about their Valentine's Day plans. Especially since their purchases usually included chocolates or cakes of some sort.

Grocery list for "snow storm" in Alabama:
1. Bread
2. Milk
3. Toilet paper
4. Beer

I went to get salad fixings, fruit, chicken stock, white beans, jalapenos, an onion, and green chilies. And I drank the rest of my milk this morning so I got more.
