i got back on campus today around seven in the evening. the three-hour drive was uneventful. that's a good thing though. sometimes those drives can be very eventful. so eventful that afterwards you no longer have a car or one that's not in one piece.... anyway, completely uneventful. i would like to let everyone know that once again i-20 is a terrible, terrible road to drive on. it's like you're driving over a washboard.
i feel sorry for my playmobils. all those times i made them drive across carpet. what was i thinking? the life of a woebegone person three-inches tall or shorter is a terrible thing to contemplate. your arms and legs are permenately straightened, your hands are forever made to hold specially rounded objects, and when you sit down you create a perfect 90 degree angle. and to make matters worse, everyone looks exactly like you. you have no distinguishing features and you are forced to wear the same thing every day and every night. your hair isn't even your own. the "supervisor" can easily rip your hair off and select a new hairstyle without even asking for your consent.
if you thought it was bad before, don't worry, it gets worse. you can be privileged to go on a spontaneous road trip. you are shoved into an outdated vehicle with no radio, terrible gas-mileage, and then aimlessly driven across great expanses of red or blue (or in the rare instances, teal). the scenery is lacking. a mountain of sandstone whites that are in need of a good washing. obsticales appear out of the middle of nowhere and for some strange reason, your car will die and the engine will mysteriously vanish. oh, to be a playmobil.
at least we know our Supervisor isn't quite so malicious. in our little "playmobil world" we can take comfort in the diversity. we can take comfort in the fact that we have flexibility. we can take comfort that we have a free-will but mostly, we can take comfort in the fact that our misfortunes aren't random acts with no purpose at heart. everything happens for a purpose.
ok, after that rabbit trail... i'm back safe and now must study for the rest of my finals. pray for me!
