So, days of shipment are wonderful in all sorts of ways. You wake up at some insane hour, drive to work when no one is on the road to meet the shipment guy who woke up at an even more insane hour, and then move boxes all day. That's pretty much how it goes. Some mornings are more... exciting than others. I will chronicle the events of my day.
Disclaimer: Do not attempt this at home.
6:00:00 - Alarm goes off (later than usual for shipment day but who's keeping track of that?)
6:00:09 - I silence alarm
6:00:10 - I go back to sleep
Some undetermined time later - "It's awfully bright in here..." Look at clock
7:45:35 - "Oh shit!"
7:45:36 - I leap out of bed, grab phone, find work number
7:45:38 - I find the work number
7:45:39 - I am on the phone, ripping off pajamas
7:45:40 - "Damn the blasted cross-strap bras!"
7:45:48 - The phone is still ringing and I've discovered that my shirt and pants are outside the bubble of cellphone service
7:45:50 - Risk of dropped call taken
7:45:55 - "Will they ever answer the phone!" Pulling shirt on... get tangled
7:46:05 - Leaping on one foot to put pants on
7:46:27 - Discover socks are also outside the mysterious cellphone coverage bubble and make a made dash for the sock drawer
7:46:40 - Socks are on, now searching for shoes
7:46:56 - Work finally answers "Yes! This is Kaitlin. I'm supposed to do shipment. I'm soooooo sorry I'm late--"
"Oh, the truck's not even here yet. We thought Patty told you to come in at 8 or something."
"... OH! Umm.... okay. I'll be there in fifteen minutes."
"Alright. See ya then."
7:47:22 - Shoes are now on though not tied
7:47:25 - Purse grabbed and bedroom door thrown open
7:47:32 - Safely (despite obvious dangers) arrive at the bottom of the stairs in one piece
7:47:36 - Attempt #1 of going out the door
7:47:41 - Return for lunch
7:48:03 - Attempt #2 of going out the door
7:48:05 - Realize I've forgotten my jacket but decide it's not worth the time it takes going back for it
7:48:12 - Once again (despite the obvious dangers of a huge hill) safely make it to my car
7:48:23 - Throw myself in the car and crank the engine... my windows are frosted
7:48:25 - Ignores the frost
7:48:40 - Beginning to get frustrated with traffic
7:49:00 - Pull out of my parking spot
7:49:30 - Forced to stop at first stop light, I tie my left shoe
7:50:13 - Forced to stop at second stop light, I tie my right shoe
7:54:17 - Finally get free of the second stop light
7:54:31 - Forced to stop at the third stop light, beginning to get really, really annoyed at the length of the lights
7:58:47 - Now the sixth stop light's stopped me... I'm five or ten minutes from work... depending on the rest of the lights
8:00:04 - Forced to stop at the final stop light (the tenth if you want to know)
8:04:18 - Light turns green..... VVVVVRRRROOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM! SQEEEEEEE!
8:06:29 - Clock in and shipment has just arrived, "Good morning!"
"Morning, sorry I'm late. I was coming from *insert some place in or around Atlanta*."
"Oh, that's not a problem.
"Dry stuff goes up here and refrigerated stuff still goes in the back?"
"That's right."
8:07 - 4:00 - Shipment
4:00 - 4:47 - Restocking merchandise, getting distracted by customers asking me random questions, getting distracted by my manager, getting sidetracked by maintenance...
4:48 - Clock out
5:05 - Arrive back home

wow... the fact that you have the times down to seconds in some cases is kinda scary! :P
