i'm awake...

But I'll most likely crash by 9:30.

There's a funny thing about living in the South. You'll have days and days of spring (sometimes summer-like) weather and twelve hours later it'll be freezing. Literally. If I remember right, yesterday was high 60's or low 70's. Pretty impressive considering it's the middle of February. Today the high was 37... for an hour or so. I got home at 4:30-ish and it was 32. The flu has been running rampant for about a month now.

I nearly forgot that tomorrow is the dreaded Valentine's Day *a shriek in the distance* It's a good thing I had a hellish day at work today or I may have missed it entirely. Not only did I wake up to a lovely layer of ice on my car and "snow" coming down, but everyone in the greater Birmingham area decided to attack the cafe today. I've rung up more candy hearts, pink bears, and sex coupons than I care to think about. It wouldn't have been so bad if we had a mid-day shift. But just two of us... we nearly went crazy.

Our expresso machine is still broken. Well, it worked for most of the day and broke on Stephanie so I told her that she broke it and now she's fired. I have no hiring or firing capabilities. It makes a good story though. I had a lady tell me that she was praying for me today. That was definitely a surprise. I thanked her and told her to have a good day. I mean, that's great and all but I've never seen her before. She doesn't know me so what can she possibly be praying for? I do appreciate the gesture, don't get me wrong.

There's a plan in the works to go camping Saturday night.

I'm going to make biscuits now.

edit 8:27 pm: my biscuits freakin' rock the house!
