I went to visit my parents this weekend since I had two days off in a row (a rare occurrence!) so Saturday I planned on getting off work on time. I was all ready to clock out at exactly 4 p.m. when I arrive at info to find Emily (cafe server) speaking with this older gentleman. The gentleman was leaning over the counter and speaking softly and Emily gave me this wide-eyed "I don't know what to do look" as I walked up. I sent her on her way since she really wanted to go on her break and inquired what the problem was. He glances around and leans closer, "There's a lady back there trying to sell a gift card."
I frown. "Sell a gift card?"
"Yes, she tried to get twenty bucks off of me. She was asking other customers after I told her no."
"Okay, just a moment."
I pick up the phone and call my manager and explain that a customer just reported someone trying to sell a gift card. The manager was like "Oh, find her!"
I then spent the next 25-30 minutes sweeping the store to find this lady. The manager ended up finding her in the cafe trying to sell her gift card to one of our customers. The funny thing is that the customer is not only a regular but also works for the FBI. We banned the lady from the store and sent her on her way.
I arrived home to discover that I had to attend a bridal shower on Sunday. Surprise! I also spent time with my sister discussing wedding stuff and telling her what she might want to have in her kitchen since she's going right from a college dorm to married life...
I also did my taxes which was the whole purpose of me going home. I cleaned and vacuumed my car (it was in desperate need of an interior cleaning and in major want of a good exterior washing). My car hasn't been washed since.... umm... at least two summers ago. I think I'll run it through the car wash after pollen season's over.
We had the biggest storm I've seen in a long time come through last night. It woke us up from the dead of sleep at 3:30 this morning. One minute it was calm, the next it was like all hell broke loose. It was kind of like those storms you see in the movies. Thunder and lightening right on top of each other. Lights flickering. The floor rumbling. Rain turning to hail. Tornado sirens going off. It was intense.
The lights on the way to work this morning were out so all 8 lanes of traffic had to treat the stoplights like a stop sign. Yeah, that was a challenge. I was 30 minutes late to work. It also dropped about 20 or so degrees since the storm.

That was a nasty storm! It caused tornado watches and water spouts in FL. I am glad that you had two days off in a a row... do you get vacation time?
